SQL Server 2008 Connection String

Some application need a connection string to connect to erudeye database, use following connection string to connect to erudeye SQL Server 2008 database :

for Indonesia datacenter user:

Data Source=sqlserverid.erudeye.net;Initial Catalog=myDataBase;User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;

for Netherlands datacenter user:

Data Source=sqlservernl.erudeye.net;Initial Catalog=myDataBase;User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;

Change

myDataBase with your database name
myUsername with your database username
myPassword with your password for username

Creating & access your FTP account

You can create FTP account by following this step

1. Click FTP on your panel menu

2. Click on create FTP account

3. Enter username and your password and click save

4. Your FTP account has been created

If you want to access your ftp account enter id.erudeye.net or ftp.yourdomain.com (if you already create a domain) as your hostname and your username as password

Web Extension

When developing a website you need to update the extension of your website depend on your website application.

1. Go to your panel menu, and pick website

2. Click on your website (eg:erudeye.co.id)

3. Go to extension tab, and pick one of your extension then click update

4. Please do not forget to update your default documents at home folder tab

How to edit permission on File Manager

If you need to edit user permission, please follow this step

1. Go to your panel menu, and pick File Manager

2. Go to folder which you want to edit it's permission (in this case you want to change permission of wwwroot folder) click on the padlock

3. Change your setting and click set permission ( mark replace permission on all childs object if you want to change security setting to all object inside the folder)

How to Add/Editing DNS or another record

To add or edit DNS you have to click Domains on your home panel.

Then click on one of your domain.

You can find DNS editor there, click on Edit DNS zone records

You can find default name server for erudeye hosting.

Default name server for ID hosting :

pecel.erudeye.net
soto.erudeye.net

Default name server for NL hosting:

bakso.erudeye.net
sate.erudeye.net

to delete name server you can click on red cross on the right corner

To add another name server, you can add by click on add record and add NS, MX server and another record like pictures below.

How to create an Email account

This article will give you a step by step guide on how to create mail accounts from your hosting portal. Sign into your hosting portal and follow these steps:

Note:

For ID Package, the hosting portal is http://id.erudeye.net.
For NL Package, the hosting portal is http://hostingnl.erudeye.net.

1. Go to Mail and click Accounts

2. Click Create Mail Account

3. Enter a desired email address, then select a domain for the email account, then enter a password, then enter the mailbox size limit. If you want emails to this account to be forwarded to another account, enter the other accounts email address. Last step is click Save.

4. Your account will then be created

Create SQL Server 2008 Database and User

If you need to create a database and database user, please follow this step.

1. Go to your spaces, and pick Database>SQL Server 2008.

2. Create your database, make sure you choose unique database name.

3. Create database user, make sure you have a unique username, and a complex password combining lower case, upper case, number and symbol, for example "eXample(*123*)". And make sure you didn't put any username string on your password.

4. Now you have a database and user point to the database.

How to backup SQL Server Database

Note : You must have a control panel login to do this operation.

Login to Hosting Portal and choose SQL Server page, Databases > SQL Server 2008
On Database page, choose the database you want to backup.
From choosen database, open accordion "Maintenance Tools" and click backup button.
Choose your backup file location, please choose "ZIP Backup" and "Copy to Folder" and then download the backup file via FTP. Put your backup file on a specific location, after backup process finish, use your FTP client to connect and download the file.
